What is the best charcoal grill?

16 May

I’m looking to spend about $200 on a charcoal grill but I can’t decide on what to get. I’ve looked at Char Grill, Royal Oak, Char Broil and Weber. Im looking for something that can cook at least 6 at a time and over 10 hamburgers at a time. Any suggestions??

Outdoor Grills?

14 May

I want to buy a grill for my deck that is relatively small. I was just curious about how much BTU a good grill should have, and a comparison between charcoal and gas grills.

I had my eye on a 13,000 BTU grill; is that good?

Thanks! :)

can you grill carrots?

14 May

Seriously, can you put them on a grill to cook, for how long, and will they taste good?

My boyfriend and I are relishing our brand new propane grill – we had a cute little weber charcoal grill before, but it was tiny. Now we are looking for new ways to cook anything we can get our hands on.

Right now, I have a bunch of chicken marinating in speedie sauce, and I would like carrots to go with it. Can I grill them, or should I just be too embarrassed to even think of such a thing and boil them instead?

How to make an smoker using your stove and kitchen cookware and ingredients like rice, brown sugar and salt.?

14 May

I have seen on several cooking show like on foodnetwork and on pbs where they used items from the kitchen to smoke meats inside on the stove top. Once I do believe was on Yan Can Cook. I think he used rice, brown sugar and salt in the wok. I have tried to search for it online but can’t locate it. Any assistance would be helpful. Thank you and have a great day. Also any suggestions on how to smoke meat on my Weber would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you I had forgotten about the tea. I have a really large and heavy cast iron skillet it is kinda deep will that do? No hunters around me so I will have to use chicken. :) If I were in a larger city I could find the pheasant. Thanks again

Do you think my son can talk to spirits or is he imagining things?

13 May

My son is 4. He has always talked about my father who has been dead for 9 years now. Things like, grandpa said I can and stuff like that. His other grandpa is alive and he calls him papa. He is the only grandson that my father would of had. I can go on and on about stories.

I also found out that the house that i live in had an older couple who both passed away(natural causes) in my house.

He somehow knew that my Tv was a hand me down that my dad bought 12 years ago.

He always tells me things like him and his grandpa are going to go fishing. My exwife and me are lost. Most of the stories are pretty weird.

Three weeks ago I made my son a grilled cheese. He sort of ate it and I was sitting down watching TV. He was playing with his cars in the kitchen when he was done. He then got this little bouncing ball out of his room and started to play with it. He bounced it and it went on the counter. He then started by the sink and put his hand on the corner to scrape along it because he couldn’t see where it was. He was moving his arm along the top to feel if he could find it.

All of a sudden I heard the phone ring from the kitchen, I went up to answer it, and right when I did I seen that I left the back burner on, and it was bright red, and my son was about to slide his hand over it.

However, the phone was still hung up on the wall in the hallway. I have no idea how I heard a phone ring from the kitchen but I did, and that is the reason I got up.

My son has done this for a few years now. My ex wife says that he talks about “John” his brother that is dead at her apartment.

Maybe the old man that died is old and he see’s him as a grandpa?

Maybe I am just making something out of nothing….but you never know?
Son does nt know of people who died in house.

I do not talk to my son about my father. He just know that he has passed away.

Which charcoal grill should I buy my husband for Father’s Day?

12 May

We currently have a non-Weber kettle grill and it’s got some issues. I believe he’d like a new one. Something with trays or tables. We can’t afford anything too expensive. I need to stay under $300 if possible. Which do you recommend?

Can you help me edit…?

12 May

This is under the topic: Bad things lead to better times.

if you could help me add (…) (;) and ( – ) that would be great! Thanks guys – 10 points for best answer/edit!

Hope for More Love
Sitting on the edge of his bed looking into his dreary eyes, I wondered why I never loved him enough. As my grandma told us stories of the past week, I noticed the many tubes surrounding his bed connecting into every part of his body. A constant beeping filled my ears in a tone that has always reminded me of the high technology keeping an innocent life alive. The scent of the old, crusty grilled cheese on the tray beside his bed was not welcoming at all. The three nurses, with “__Name of Hospital__” written across the chest of their scrubs and hair tied back, were in high spirits and continued with their daily schedules. It was nothing for them to be in that atmosphere, but everything for me.
Three years ago my grandpa, __NAME__, was diagnosed with cancer. I can remember my mom on the phone for many hours, while I rested on my bed snuggled with my blanket. As hard as I tried to listen, and grasp all the information I could, some place in my heart didn’t want to know. Maybe if I didn’t know the details, they wouldn’t be true. My mom came into the hallway that split my bedroom from my sisters and told us in a brave voice that our grandpa was very sick. Soon, I could hear my sister and mom sobbing together, leading to my own tears throughout the night. The thought of not having our grandpa in our life was impossible.
For years before he was diagnosed, he was constantly in my life. He was there for me in every sport I succeeded in, and even failed in. Every school play, concert, program, and game I could always look past the spotlight or off the court, into the stands to see him there. The birthdays, holidays and special occasions were either filled with his presence or phone calls. Sitting in the Nitty Gritty, listening to my grandpa cheering for me louder than anyone else in the restaurant was always great, but I never told him how much I appreciated it, instead how embarrassed I was. Whether it was being scared to go up north for a full week with him or trying golf, things were always a little frightening. I loved our secure home and doing something new was always a challenge.
From the doctors he was told he had two years to live. At this point our whole family realized that we need to make the best of it. The little things, like phone calls, birthday cards, and screaming so the neighbors could hear us when the packers got a touchdown meant so much more. Every moment spent together seemed so precious and worthwhile, unlike before. Our trips up-north contained more meaningful stories and love and we even caught more fish! His smile brought us all hope and trust that things would be okay.
The two years had expired and we were all pretending they didn’t. In June 2008 doctors found that he was a perfect candidate for a treatment called Interleukin-2 Immunotherapy. Along with the long list of risks and side effects, he decided that this could only be for the better. With an 85% chance of nothing happening, he entered the treatment with hope. It consisted of being in the hospital for a week, every other week; full of sleep deprivation for him and his wife.
After getting a positive result and shrinking of the tumor, we were all overjoyed. He was in the successful group of 15% and I had a feeling that I could show him someday how much I loved him. Sitting in this same hospital room with the same bed, tubes, beeping, food and nurses, I realize it is different. His eyes aren’t dreary and afraid as they used to be. My eyes are filled with love, letting him know that I care for him more than I ever have and I am so thankful we have this chance to bond even more. Our eyes have hope in the 8% chance of a cure, a chance for him to be the loving, healthy grandpa again; and I will be able to love him back.
