I have a Weber q portable grill and don’t want to spend money on their stand since it seems expensive for what you get. I’m wondering if it’s safe to put it on an outdoor table, and what material, glass, wood or plastic (I imagine plastic wouldn’t be good). I want to use it in my backyard but not on the floor.

I have never grilled before, and now I’m very tempted to try my hand at it. I don’t have much space (1 bdrm apt) and will have to grill outside our apartment building, so I want to buy a Weber Smokey Joe portable grill. My question isn’t about the grill, but how to safely light, maintain, and dispose of charcoal as I use my grill. Anyone have any tips, tricks, or simple directions?

What is the best Portable GRILL that can be used in the kitchen?

I live in an apartment complex where there is no place to do the traditional/outdoor grilling!
I have only used the outdoor type and and for the amount of smoke they produce, they can’t be used inside the house.
Checked few types: charcoal & gas powered — wanted to check which of there or other kind of portable grill that can be used indoors. Also, are there other specific accessories for indoor grilling?

How can I use my small propane tank with my portable gas grill without killing myself?

I bought a Thermos portable gas grill at Target last weekend, and with it a 1LB Propane tank. One problem, however. According to the instructions, I’m supposed to have the the regulator (or whatever the dial thing is called) such that looking down on it the dial is straight up and the connection for the tank is straight down. But when I plug my small propane tank into this and set it down, the grill is shorter than the tank, so my grill ends up on an incline with the tank lifting it 2 or 3 inches off the ground. I’m quite sure that the tank is securely attached to the grill, it doesn’t look like those inches are supposed to go away if I connected it tighter or something. As a solution, I would just turn the tank at an angle, but the instructions seem to suggest that the tank should always be vertical. Are there different sizes of 16.4oz propane tanks? Is it not a big deal to just rotate the tank 45 degrees or so to allow my grill to sit flat? How can I make this work?

-Portable/small is key…I have a small apt and not much storage space left!
-I would consider a gas grill but prefer charcoal
-Cheaper is better but I will pay for something great
-Easy to clean would be a plus
-I will be using this primarily for small bbqs in parks and on the beach. If it can cook a couple burgers and dogs at the same time, I’ll be happy.
